Tie Back System

Helicon’s Helical Tieback Anchors are anchoring systems used to horizontally reinforce and stabilize permanent and temporary structures subjected to lateral loads from earth and water. Helical tieback anchors are used in conjunction with a variety of earth retaining systems such as sheet piles and soldier piles in order to provide additional lateral resistance beyond what is achievable by a cantilevered wall.

Proven on hundreds of applications, these cost-effective tiebacks can be tested immediately, eliminating the need to wait for the concrete to cure. As a result, money is saved and project schedules are significantly reduced.

Tie Back System Advantages:
  • Predictable capacity
  • No excavation required on the high-grade side of foundation or retaining walls.
  • Installs with either handheld or small equipment in areas of limited or tight access
  • Load test can be conducted immediately after installation
  • Generates no spoils
  • Clean installation – no messy grout
  • All-weather installation

House and Concrete Leveling

As your foundation settles, the leveling done by your foundation construction company may falter. As the foundation repair experts in Florida, Helicon will level your foundation to raise a house’s lowest point to match the level of its highest point.  The leveling process differs depending on whether your foundation is a concrete slab foundation or a pier and beam foundation.

Leveling Houses on Concrete Slabs

Concrete slabs are completely solid and require deep excavation to be repaired and leveled. Our foundation repair specialists have to dig around and underneath the slab to be able to safely bring in the necessary tools to the interior and grade beams as well as the pilings of the slab.

Once excavation is complete, our team can conduct repairs based on the problems we discover, which may include:

  • Rotten pilings
  • Pilings not installed deeply enough
  • Cracked foundation
  • Settled earth that has sunk

In most cases, concrete slabs will require additional support once leveled to prevent further leveling problems in the same areas. Leveling may also need to be coupled with foundation repair to ensure that it stays level through additional settling.

Leveling houses on pier and beam systems

Pier and beam leveling requires a less invasive approach than that of concrete slab leveling. We can identify leveling issues from inside of your home and perform repairs with minimal excavation.

Areas where soil has shifted and caused the balance of the house’s weight to move weaken faster because their support is less sturdy. The supports in weak areas must be reinforced with additional piers, beams, or posts after being raised to an appropriate level.

Mudjacking (Also called Slab jacking)

Mudjacking is commonly sought out by homeowners in Florida who are experiencing the negative effects of a sinking foundation. A foundation can begin sinking for a variety of reasons, including when the soil beneath it shrinks due to lack of moisture or expands due to oversaturation. When soil begins to settle, homeowners may choose mudjacking, or slabjacking, for their property.

Mudjacking, which is oftentimes chosen by homeowners in Midland due to its simplicity and effectiveness, typically consists of:

  • Drilling small holes into sinking foundation slabs
  • Injecting cement or a similarly powerful mixture through these holes
  • Having the mixture fill up the empty spaces between the foundation slabs and the soil beneath it
  • Raising the sinking foundation to its original level
  • Cleaning up the area and having peace of mind knowing the foundation is now solidly supported

In addition to mudjacking, there are several other techniques that can be used to address a failing foundation, such as compaction grouting and chemical grouting.
